The Cederberg

Exceptional Botanical Diversity

The Cederberg region is only a two hour drive from Cape Town, yet the landscape couldn’t be more different. This region showcases ancient San and Khoi rock art and rugged and mountainous terrain that offers great hiking trails and rock-climbing opportunities.

The Cederberg has an exceptional botanical diversity and forms part of the Cape Floral Kingdom of South Africa. Amongst the dramatic sandstone rock formations, farmers prepare the world-famous, andhealthy rooibos tea, found only in the Cederberg of South Africa. The name ”Cederberg” comes from the Clanwilliam Cedar Tree which is an extremely rare and endemic tree to the region.
